Historians are a quarrelsome bunch, but not one scholar will ever suggest the might of the ancient Vita-Ultea kingdom in the land of Rinascia was anything short of absolute. Vita-Ultea, its power, and its Kingdom were once as solid and unflinching as a stone pillar in the surf. But even stone erodes over time, and Vita-Ultea inevitably saw its end.
Outside forces had nothing to do with the kingdom's downfall, however. The scattered fragments of records and histories indicate Vita-Ultea's cobblestone roads, towering spires, and miles of complex aqueducts were gradually turned to rubble and dust by long, costly internal wars and conflicts. Many of those devastating battles utilized abominations constructed through unspeakable magics and experiments. Monsters—just one example of the lingering fallout from the Kingdoms’ black activities—still haunt the countryside.
